Channel One Studio

Does anyone know if the Channel One Studio in Kingston, Jamaica still exists ? I am going to Jamaica in a few weeks time and i would love to go and visit the studio if it is still there.

you know what i was going to ask the same thing is that studio still active if it is why did everyone stop recording there imagine all the bad shit that comes out the studio ? if u really think about it ima give u an example if the viceroys really wanted to they could get with norris reid once more just to record brethren and sistren and release it once more dont u think irts a possibility

i know that it isnt active, but i am not sure if the buidling is still there. as far as i know channel one uk is its replacement.

Channel One UK is not the same as Channel One Studio Jamaica.

The building was still there in 1999...not sure now...but it definately was there then.

I came back from JA earlier in the year and i agree with truthsandrights. Martin Cambell knows the score with Channel 1(JA) and is pictured with Jo Jo Hookim on his site. Otherwise its probabaly wise to agree a price with a Taxi and tell them why you are going. This way they are far more likely to be interested and will 'Check the street'. The man 'ave to be careful there man.

Hookim Brothers close the studio in early '80.
And move to New York.
The cd/lp inlays of Pressure sound records give more
info and history about Channel One.
