There isn't much more to it honestly. But of course I'm sure such a quick and dirty solution won't sound as nice as a properly built spring reverb. But then again it's more about what you build it with rather than how complicated it will be. The principle is still the same.
lol...rahtid, Kal! is what kinda pitchy-patchy business dat?
you inspired me a bit though, i found some more ambitious projects that use a real tank...probably less than $100 to build, it's absolutely outrageous what people want for spring reverbs now. input and output impedance of the tank are the important things to pay attention to, otherwise pretty straightforward.
From the top of my head; 'Spring Reverb and Thunder Effect Dub Sounds'
include:
1.
'A Rougher Version' - King Tubby & The Aggrovators // [Shalom Dub]
*re-dubbed from 'Poor Marcus' w/ Johnny Clarke
2.
21 Gun Salute to Brother Marcus - The Aggrovators // [Rocker's Almighty
Dub]
3.
'Queen Of The Iootion' - Scientist // [Heavy Metal Attack]
4.
'Corn Picker Dub' - Lee Perry Presents // [Megaton Dub]
5.
'Government Dub' - (Horace Andy) Everton Da Silva // [In The Light Dub]
6.
'Africa Love Dub' - Linval Thompson // [Negrea Love Dub]
7.
Maxi Millian The Emperor Of Dub & Fatman Ridim Section - Frelimo //
[Heavyweight Dub]
8.
Jah Dub - Rockers All Stars // [Chanting Dub With The Help Of The Father]
** Especially important to note is the 'Starship Africa' Soundtrack by Creation
Rebel! That album is at boiling point with thunder-like effects! In my
opinion it's one of the best Dub artefacts existing
** Also important to note is 2 Dub Heavy producers; Jah Shaka and Mad
Professor (UK), who are both in control and operating with 'BIG' effects!!...
thunder sounds included!
