Ha yes, I missed that bit.

I have to say, YouTube's messaging system is rather crappy. If someone would send you a message, YouTube does not give you a notification. So if you log in to your YT-page, their is no sign of incoming messages. You need to actually go into your inbox to see whether you have a message or not.
Another option for you to do is to leave a comment with the video. Comments, I think are easier picked up by YT-users.
