Jah Shaka dub recomendations

Post by babaluma1 »

I have been looking to expand my dub collection and wanted to invest in some Jah Shaka dub albums on vinyl. As he has a massive discography does anyone have a top 3 albums by him I should investigate first?

Tough to narrow it down to three considering how much material he's put out, but I'd start with the Commandments in Dub series, and listen to some stuff online to see which LPs you prefer.

My top picks from that series would probably be volumes 2, 3, 5, and 7.

Also, the crucial Junior Brown "Fly Me Away Home" LP has a bunch of killer dub versions (check out "Chant Down", the last song on the album).
