What are some rare reggae albums on iTunes Store?

Post by Poodle »

Does anyone know any rare, unique, or rare but then re-issued albums on iTunes>??

In the Australian iTunes store I've found things like:

- This Is Roots Music, Vol. 1, 2 &3
- Various Artist Vol. 1 & 2 (Sir Tommy's Prod.)
- Sir Tommy's Party With The Stars
- The Sound of Macka Dub, Vol. 1
- Well Charged, Vital Dub
- Reggae Golden Classics
- Big Joe, Keep Rocking & Swinging

Please help, thank you!

*Also...

...please don't give me a big speel about "why don't you shop for vinyl instead because I just might spend more money on those big black discs than you do!!!"

These are the Sir Tommy's records I've found on iTunes. I love them and I love how they're rare and unusual. As a sub question does anyone know any'thing about them?

Nuff nuff rare stuff you can get for downloads

Spings to mind for me is junior murvins set for mikey dread

I was so excited to be able to buy that for four pounds rather than 50 for the LP, some folks said it wasn't a real re-release though because it was digital only

ITunes has some quite hard to find stuff on it and it has some things that other download sites do not. A great deal of heartbeat's releases could still be bought on iTunes last time I looked. However I now hate apple so I refuse to have their software on my pc so I can't use iTunes any more

Yeah Apple's a pain... but I like shopping on their store.

In regards to Heartbeat records...

Burning Spear's Farover is a nice record remastered on the store. There's Chanting Dread Inna Fine Style by Big Youth which is also nice. And especially nice the Black Star Liner - Reggae From Africa compilation which looks like it'd be quite rare! All three of those records are good off Heartbeat!

But more obvious Heartbeat record's on iTunes include, Guess Who's Coming To Dinner by Black Uhuru and Beyond World War III by Mikey Dread. These two are great as well!

So anyway... that's Heartbeat, but does anyone know anything about the Sir Tommy's records I posted??
