The sad but hard facts are that nothing really did happen when Hugh Mundell was shot. Some people who knew him were attending his funeral but back in them days (1983) he was just another person dead.
In Jamaica he was not that popular because dancehall was dominating the island already then.
And yes, Jacob Miller died in a car crash in March 1980.

A little correction to 'arize-rootsman's story. Mundell was shot dead in his car by the brother of a man whom he had accused of robbing his home and whom therefore went to prison.
As Junior Reid told the story there was a short discussion before the shooting in which Mundell refused to lift the charges until his stolen items were returned.
He was only 23 years old when he died.

I also heard of a connection with an argument about a 'fridge in the case of Mundell's death.

In the case of Garnett Silk's death, I heard a 'fridge mentioned again - but I think his death was as a result of a gas explosion when shots were fired at a house - possibly one he was building for his mother if I remember correctly.

According to a book I read on Bob Marley, Jacob Miller died in the car crash when fetching some take-away fish for Bob.
