Gregory Isaacs - Dub Versions (Deluxe Edition)

Post by sonic »

I bought this cd online expecting dub versions of classic Gregory Isaacs songs, but it only contains the vocal versions. Only the last song is an instrumental.

Did anyone else buy this item? Or did I end up with a misprint?

No misprint. See comments below of Ernie B

"Not all dub; this CD actually features extended mixes of each song (vocal and dub). Lots of good music here!"

Looking at the running times on Amazon it seems most the tracks are around 7 minutes long, so I'm guessing they're all disco mixes.

Why not?

Are these original disco-mixes from the 70s and 80s or are these new mixes?
It sounds like they used the original master tapes, although the sound is a little bit odd (Loudness war?).

I totally get that you were hoping for something else, so this is not a direct response to the OP but more just an extension of the conversation. If these are disco mixes that previously had only been available on 12" then the set sounds pretty good to me. I'd have to check it out as long the mixes are from the 70s or 80s.
