Greetings,
Long ago a young dreadlocks named Ben made a tape for me called Studio One Clash. It had Wailing Souls on one side. I gave the tape to a friend, and I have never been able to find the songs again.
A bird without a nest has no place to rest.
A bird without a nest feels lonely and blue.
Like you . . .
Me I'm alone in this world
With no one to call my very own.
If something should happen to you,
I'd hold myself responsible.
I'm on my own . . .
Does anyone remember those lyrics? Are the songs available?

Hi DJ E
This is just a guess, but the "The Wailing Souls" - http://www.roots-archives.com/release/396 - is on Studio One and the last track is called "Without You", which seems to be what those lyrics are implying.

Nope, not Bristol, just a guy from V-town.
I bought that Studio One CD recently; I enjoy it very much. Some of the songs on it (Pack Up, Got to Be Cool, Without You) have the same feel as the song I remember, with Pipe's lead vocal cutting across the smooth three part harmony. Many of the songs must have been on the tape I had. I don't suppose I'll ever find that 7" single, but maybe someday.
Thanks!

Hi Arize Rootsman
I recently read that;
They were The Renegades around 1965. They did backing vocals for an Ernest Ranglin album as The Renegades and did cut some sides on the Federal Label.
The tracks were R&B.
That is off the top of my head. I will look that up later.
