Israel Tafari is the title of the album, by Fatman Riddim Section.

The album is indeed the dubversion of Israel Vibration's album "The Same Song".
From what I recall, one of the vocal songs does not appear on the dub-album.

There are two dub version of "The Same Song".

"Israel Tafari" and "Same Song Dub". "Israel Tafari" is generally considered to be the more crucial. It's the only one I've heard and it's certainly an excellent album.

Always the same topics since a very long time on all the reggae forums and nobody know really the truth today. But some people can help us to know the story: ROGER & IAN LEWIS from Inner Circle/Fatman Riddim Section and Tommy Cowan.

I met Lewises bothers and Touter Harvey in december and i asked to Cowan BY mail this year. There is a matter about this case.Cowan don't wan't to speak on internet but i've got to meet him soon.Inner Circle stay elusive about this subject to.

For that reason i think this: the majority of the songs on the original Israel Vibration's "SAME SONGS" lp were recorded by Inner Circle in 1978.These 7 songs only are versioned on "ISRAEL TAFARI" who appear in the Top Ranking Sounds in USA (inner circle label) and Cowan made his own version named "SAME SONG DUB"on Top Ranking LABEL in JA (who is a Cowan & Lewis label) with all the 10 songs (the 7 by Inner Circle/Fatman Riddim Section more others with another formation).

But on the original Israel Vibration 'SAME SONG' lp, Inner Circle / Fatman Riddim Section are not credited, only their drummer Calvin McKenzie appear with Pablo and the other musicians.

It's a theory but the elements i have today in the JACOB MILLER & INNER CIRCLE bio/discography i'm writing make me thinking that and i remember ROGER, IAN and TOUTER said to me at the same time: 'that's us!'

And don't forget that: INNER CIRCLE financed and recorded the single "SAME SONG" before the lp and this lp was reedited in a confidential number in TOP RANKING INTERNATIONAL in 1980/81.If i know more about his or if made an error ,i'll tell it.

Anyway i have the 2 dub versions and the lp and the cd with the extended version of The Same Song
album.
is not a secret in jamaica during the 70's the record studios use to be factory every studio with his own band and musicians and the intinerant players.

It is the same album. Israel Tafari was released as dub album before Israel vibrations 1st release same song. The tracks are in different order, some opf the dubs are omitted but can be found in different variations on Fatman riddims Killer dub album Heivyweight dub album (recently repressed to CD). Hope that helps,

Hi NACHO & KING,

First i want to said there is no Israel Vibration dub versions on 'Killer Dub' and 'Heavyweight Dub' and that's sure. After, i would like to know how this 'Israel Tafari' could see the light before the original 'Same Song' lp?Can you explain to me please?!I think it's not the case. But it's possible he saw release before 'Same Song Dub', like some days or weeks before.
'Israel Tafari' was pressed in Miami, late 78 and had better sales than the 'Same Song Dub' at the beginnings of 79.Some people said it's not the same session and 'Israel Tafari' was re-recorded after 'Same Song'/'Same Song Dub' but i don't think so.It's the same sessions recording and the same engineer but not the same remixing sessions and that is the most important:

Paul Davidson made the 2 diferents dub versions on 'Same Song Dub' and 'Israel Tafari'.It's a fact because we can listen his very typical dub mixing on these 2 lp (typical drums treatement, i like it and we can listen it too on the Mighty Threes lp).But he was more inspirated on 'Israel Tafari' who is far better and more wild than the Same Song Dub).

Finaly Inner Circle financed the 'Same Song' lp by Isaerl Vibration and is own 'Israel Tafari' lp.Tommy Cowan made is own business with Same Song Dub.

PS: i'm not sure about that but apart of the Jacob Miller and Winston McAnuff 's dub versions on the Fatamn Riddim Section 'Is It War Or Is It Peace' lp,it's posible there is one or two songs by Israel Vibration. Can anyone tell me about that?

My question is: is there a dub of 'Streets of Glory' on this Israel Tafari album, or on any other album besides 'The Same Dub'?

I love that riddim, but the dub on 'the Same Dub' is a missed opportunity imo, not very good.

There is not dub version of 'STEET OF GLORY' on the 'ISTAREL TAFARI' lp but yes it is in the 'SAME SONG DUB' lp.
Well Charge, you said true whaen you said the riddim on the 'Same Song Dub' lp is not very good.I don't understand why Paul Davidson made this dub lp so poor.In comparison, 'Unconquered People Dub' lp is an equivalent to the 'Unconquered Pople' lp in 80, but 'Same Song Dub' is not as good as the original 'Same Song' in 78...For that reason 'Israel Tafari' is a good complement to the original Israel Vibration lp.How a very good lp can have a dub version so poor (except one or two songs)?
