Reggae christmas

Post by vlad »

weird looking stuff:

http://www.roots-archives.com/release/5453

....and even weirder sounding:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y73kMuKnd0w

The funnies of all is to read a sellers description on the bay (picked up from popsike): "DONT MISS OUT ON THIS CRUCIAL KILLER & HARD TO FIND ORIGINAL PRESS COLLECTORS LP"

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA......HA

Unbeatable, or do you have better related to the topic?.....

OK, will admit that this song from the LP isn't as bad...or.....? Be the judge:

Santa is Black:

I can just imagine this team in Kingston circa December, with no one in the studios, including no musicians, recording this stuff :)

All respect due. Peace.

Must admit I haven't listened to this Album in quite a while, but I recall thinking at the time: that isn't too bad for a Xmas Album.
The ebay seller's Hype is completely over the top though. It is not what I consider a rare Album. I also bought it on ebay a few years ago, but didn't pay much.

With the festive season approaching, who knows: it might be time to take it out of the shelf again...

The seller of that Popsike auction writes that on all of his albums. And everything is Shaka style. Even the soppiest lovers rock. Pure sales talk with no substance.

Used to have this album (and two or three more christmas themed LP's). Sold them all. But the specific song you linked was one of the better from all LP's.

Santa wasn't black however. He was Greek ;) ... with some stylistic elements from German and Scandinivian mythology.
