Sir John Holt passes away

another tragic news that reggae legend john holt paased away on sunday in a london hospital at the age of 69...very sad for us reggae fans...believe he has been ill for some time..may his soul rest in peace...

That's really sad news - one of the most distinctive and best voices in reggae.

That saddens me a lot. I grew up with his music and his golden voice. Another blessed talent has gone.

It seems that not a week goes by now without one of the greats passing on. As I-Lion Tafari says these are the voices we grew up with. So sad.

And to rub some salt in us reggae fans wounds. The national digital radio station set up by the BBC to cater for ethnic music fans, BBC 1xtra fails to mention this in their news bulletin - but they've got plenty of coverage time for the late Linda Bellingham (if you've not lived in the UK you won't have a clue who she was) If David Rodigan wasn't doing a show with them on Sunday evenings, I'd show them my contempt by deleting them from my presets.
