I Am Just A Girl 12" bears running matrix number DSR 8915 (pressed at Dynamic), which suggests it was released early in 1979. It was the B-side to Michigan & Smiley's Rub A Dub Style (also on the same rhythm).

Whether it was a new voicing over existing Alton Ellis rhythm or just an archive classic dusted off and remixed remains a mystery. I honestly don't know. Original Alton Ellis song & rhythm is roughly from the era 1966/7.
