More scratch from pressure sounds

Agreed, Congo Bunny, overall a great release!

Upsetters Shuffle and Beat Down Comrade Man were not recorded at the Black Ark - the former sounds like a Black Ark mix, but Comrade Man does not...
Loco Negril also most likely was recorded elsewhere, but has the typical 1978 Black Ark sound/mix...

Great one, to me the best Scratch release by PS since Return od Soundsystem Scratch. I'd also like to point out that it runs at the right speed
That Loco Negril Dub is insanly wicked as are the Jah Lion tunes!
Also they have done a very good mastering job, which sadly isn't the case with all PS releases. Big up PS!

Comrade Man is not by Junior Byles. I don't remember the singer or the producer's name (Bunny Lee?).

What do you mean Sammy? That PS mislabeled the track or that it was sung by somebody else before and maybe for another producer?

For those of you who don't have the liner notes: Comrade Man was recorded at Dynamics, Loco Negril was originally produced by Karl Patterson & mixed by Perry.

Roaring Lion looks interesting, although the past few Pressure Sounds Black Ark releases have been a mixed bag. I'm only familiar with a few of the tracks, since almost everything is previously unreleased. Track listing available on my Scratch website, as well as news of a new, 2 LP edition of Super Ape.

Does anyone else remember some press release from PS on this album saying that you could hear perry feeding lines to Jah Lloyd in the Jah Lloyd tracks?

I searched their site today but can't find it and I'm now wondering if I imagined it.

I was listening to these tracks on small headphones last night and the stereo split was really annoying and pronounced

So today I put the three tracks in my audio software and split the stereo and I don't think it's perry at all. I think the other vocals are Jah Lloyd doing an alternative take, or possible a warm up take. In places the lyrics and timing match and it other places they are quite different

So I have made 6 tracks out of those three. Three with just the pronounced vocal (of course the true stereo is now lost)

and three more tracks with just the faded out guide vocal which are kind of like alternative semi instrumental versions.

Like I said I've lost the original stereo by doing that, but personally I will find the tracks easier to listen to without the other vocal in there.

Anyone else have any thoughts on whether those additional vocals are Perry or Lloyd, I'm sure their Lloyd having split them out and being able to hear them without the vocal
