The first injury, if memory serves me right, was in France. He was hurted during a football game with the Wailers & roadies vs a team of French journalists. it was juist before the concerte he did @ Vincenne. There are pics of this game.

hi i guess i think(and iam not senile yet)that it was during a soccer match back in 1977 during the french leg of the exodus tour when wailers met the polymuscles which i think was comprised by some of the french then, soccer stars and some journalists.i think the main journalist who was the author of this foul was francis dordor that bob called affectionately jah dordor who is now a columnist at the magazine'inrockuptibles'.that is after this match and the medical check which followed the injury on his foot that the melanoma that would latter took his life was diagnosed

who predicted he would die at 36?
i know bob himself believed he would live until the very end,he refused to write a will which i believe is why there's so many sketchy compilations out in stores.

Back in June of 1977, after some great perfomances in four concerts at the Rainbow that culminated a brief european tour during May, Bob went to the United States. The purpose was to do an american tour but Bob was suggested by some specialist to rest his foot, which was terrible damaged in a soccer match with some journalists during that tour.
Bob went then to his mother's house at Wilmington, where he reasoned a lot with some childhhod friends (remember Bob lived there in 1966) called Ibis, Pitts and Dion.
It was during these deep conversations that Bob spoke a lot about Christ with them, and on one ocassion he told that he was going to die at 36.
"C'mon Bob why do you say that, why do you wan' die so soon, you have a big career and makin good money?" said surprised Dion.
"Next year, in 1978, I'll be 33 in February. From that day on things will follow their nature curse"
Bob went to England to see some doctors, and Ibis and Dion told Cedella what his son said to them. She used to get very angry when Bob spoke in such negative manners but she thought it because of his injury and the cancelation of that part of the tour.
It was in the UK were especialist first discovered the cancerous cells. They even suggest him the possibility of amputation which Marley denied appealing to religous reasons.

hi anyway
i don't believe in much of the legend that was made of bob history after his death, but i heard that his friend in america(ibis pitt with whom he attended the woodstock festival of 1966)said that bob once asked him when jesus died?and it is said that ibis answered at the age of 33.and then bob allegedly told him that he would die 3 years after the age of jesus.but again, this is not the most important thing about bob's history and teaching
