Yeh i think it's good to include these albums, even though some may be bogus, it's still reggae and people still like to know about it, theres lots of good bootleg albums aswell, but that Rhino Label stinks!! why doesn't someone close them down. It's nice to have info on everything out there i think, but putting a comment in is essentail with bogus releases especially when the artist titled on the album doesn't even have anything to do with it! thats rhinos speciality! more info the better. It must be very hard to get to the truth of the real credits on certain albums, it would be nice to set up a thread on the subject and try to encourage people with any info to post in, but theres always the problem of verifying info, a very hard task.......

Re: To Roots Archives moderators
I would suggest that those who feel the archive isn't collated properly might like to do their own archive in their own style.
This one works great for me and I don't know of any other site with such comprehensive info laid out in an easy to read or browse format.
And it's free so I guess these guys are doing it for love not money.
So while suggestions, corrections and comments are OK, don't get on the mods' case, they are doing a great job for you all.

Re: To Roots Archives moderators
Trojan is now part of Sanctuary records. The Sanctuary Group describes itself as:
"one of the world's leading developers of music intellectual property rights"
Given that Trojan have reportedly bought out Rhino, who it seems are big pirates (stealers of intellectual property rights) then the two are strange bedfellows, unless they 'sale' of Rhino to Trojan was more of a legal siezure than a sale.

Re: To Roots Archives moderators
Isn't it true that for years Trojan issued LPs packed full of tracks that they didnt really have the right to release, other than having paid someone at some point to release the music decades earlier? Did Coxsone properly pay his performers? Many of them say no. So, sad as it is, Seb is right. His job is to catalog what's out there, not be a clearinghouse for legal information. Although, it would be nice if known bootlegs were marked as being such.

Re: To Roots Archives moderators
please note that this album is a fake release too:

This isn't Augustus Pablo, you can clearly hear that.
