Four classic Scientist dub albums are due to be reissued on the Dub Mir label:
Scientist Encounters Pac Man
Scientist Meets The Space Invaders
Scientist Wins The World Cup
Scientist Rids The World Of The Evil Curse Of The Vampires
All have original artwork, only difference if the reference to Greensleeves, which has not been added to the sleeves/labels.
The date for vinyl/cd release was Jan 2015, however all online listings have since been removed.
Anyone have an update or know the background to these reissues?

Don't know for sure, but as they are owned by VP/Greensleeves I was very surprised to see them listed on Mir, I suspect VP pointed out to Mir that they had no rights to issue them, whatever Scientist might think.

They're in preorder right now. I ordered it, hope they don't get cancelled.

I'm not sure if they've stopped the pressing. From the info I was able to gather, it's gonna be released on Jan 15. From the looks of it, MIR is a Russian Label and they have already issued it on CD (discogs). I just pre-ordered some from red eye records.. keeping my fingers crossed that they don't block the release and I"m little skeptical on the pressing quality.

I am so happy right now, I was looking to add "..Wins the World Cup" to my collection for some time now. As mentioned, I hope the quality is good enough. If these releases do see daylight it would be nice if someone would do some sort of review.

Well I'm happy for you guys, because these are four of my favorite albums ever. But it's also kinda sad to see, that someone (again) makes money with Scientists incredible music without the man himself seeing a single penny for it.
But still… if more people can add his long out-of-print albums to their collection, then this really is a positive thing, isn't it?

I tried doing more research on the release.
Dub Vendor had these release on CD on "mirumir" and I'm guessing it's the same as "MIR" that is going to release the pressings.
It says "issued under exclusive licence for the world excluding North America by Hopetown Overton Brown".

I thought that Heavyweight Dub Champion was the best of his Greensleeves albums. I wonder why they didn't reissue that one?
(I didn't pay absolutely loads for the CD, but I paid more than I normally would to obtain it!)

"Heavyweigt Dub Champion" and "Big Showdown" is coming too, on February 13th. Will be getting them all myself; the four already released CDs (that EB had for a brief moment) was described as being top quality. Should mean they've done well with the vinyls too. Only not sure which store would be best for a pre-order... Red Eye? HHV? It's always a bit of a chance taking with pre-orders, it could mean getting them faster or way later than everyone else. Best thing would be if they show up (soon!) at one of our own reggae retailers.

The only one of his Geensleeves-era albums that I don't own now is Big Showdown. I listened to it as mp3 and I don't remember it being that interesting. But I may have to give it another chance.
