Sadly I missed blood and fire selling them dirt cheap, by the time I saw that they had them fo 4 quid on their website they had already gone out of business. I think the Yabby You one was my most expensive one tooRootsman wrote:
I did too, bought virtually all of them direct from B&F. At one point they were selling them dirt cheap. Single CD titles were about £4.95 each. I think I also paid less than £10.00 for the Yabby You and Congos two disc sets and about £12.00 for the Big Youth three disc set.
Prices sure have rocketed this last few years

Re: VP relaunches Blood & Fire
Any new news about this project? Roots Archives is the only forum I visit, so I was wondering if any other source has an update....I'm never too successful when I try to navigate the VP website.
(I know they put out a "Mr. Know-It-All" 12" by Gregory Isaacs.)
Thanks

it never happened. Blood and Fire & VP wouldn't agree on the conditions, so B&F canceled the deal.

Thanks jumbo. Too bad....especially since that new old material, whatever it was, will stay out of circulation for the time being.

Re: VP relaunches Blood & Fire
Was just about to say how happy i was to hear this and it was the first time i had heard about this B+F revival and im a original Bafer! from the first forum, i bought almost every one of their CDs and also got to sell almost everyone back to the store i got them from, as ya do in hard times an all that!lol but some i could never part with no matter how hard the times so i still have the best of.
Was about to say what a great thing this would have been for Roots Reggae as most of us know what an impact B+F had on reviving Roots in the UK and Europe, at least i felt like they where instrumental in bringing it back and keeping that fire burning. Maybe VP/Randy's just wanted another outlet for their huge back catalog(their is a video on vimeo i think about Randy's Lost Archives+talk worth watching if you can find it) whereas B+F always liked to pick and choose who they released. Sad to hear it never happened........

So they agreed to terms & announced their partnership, released a 12", then disagreed to terms? Strange business the Reggae business.....sad to hear this didn't work out.

The Blood and Fire catalog is second to none, in my opinion. I sorely miss them, and look forward to the day when they return or someone picks up the pieces and carries on their legacy of excellence.
I was fortunate enough to have picked up 90% of the original catalog at the time (I'm a "CD" guy) and still listen to every piece of it quite often...
