I also like "Bloodstain", it certainly is`nt his strongest album but I also don`t think its a throwaway.

IMO Original Prophet on Cornerstone and "Michael Prophet & Friends" on Roots Traditional are much weaker albums.

Vlad wrote:BLOODSTAIN a good LP? OK, well, than I must have listened to it poorly. It is one of the very few LP's I sold back after a couples spins; thought it was so average.

Any other opinions on "Bloodstains"?

Perhaps I should hunt for it again...
"Lift My Eyes To The Hills" for example a wicked track.

You sold it too soon man

Same vibe as http://www.roots-archives.com/release/4985

Simmons V (?) drums which dominates the sound (not my fav sound).
Vocals are ok - I prefer his previous work.

Just listened to the gunman album on cd with a few twelve inch classics including boom him up and gunman. Tremendous stuff on greensleeves cd. Check it out.

Gunman is a really solid album. One of my favorites is The Crisis from the Know the Right LP (Yabby You).

album Serious Reasoning (island 1980), A2: Hear I Prayer

and all tracks of the album, lovely horn-sections, the cover-art.
drums: Santa, bass: Clinton Ferron (Fearon)..

Saw Micael Prophet live in 2005, Brugge, Belgium. Great singing-style still, but man, did he deserved a much better backbone-band (I missed the roots-style, the on-drop flavours).

Michael Prophet rules here, too. And Know The Right is just a great album.
Perhaps after Yabby You project Shanachie could make a compilation of
Yabby produced Michael Prophet material.

This thread made me check some Michael's You Tube clips and I found out that Michael is a quite lively and warm hearted artist.

Nice shoes. I liked very much the band, especially the bass and drum tightness.
