Alborosie & King Jammy: Dub of Thrones

Post by sonic »

Did anyone hear this release? Any opinions?

To my ears it sounds cold, sterile and boring. To me it sounds a bit like Prince Jammy's Osbourne in Dub.

Honestly, I'm disappointed. Being of fan of both I thought this would be something large. I guess I need to get used to the digital age of Dub.

Haven't heard this album but the previous dub album Alborosie had (Dub Clash?) was rather good. Also is it really digital dubbing? I thought Albo had acquired King Tubby equipment trying to get at the real vintage dub sound.

Yes Kalcidis, at least you could have spoilered in an adequate way:

*Dem never love/ never love never love/ poor Saaaansa*
(tuff hornsection+echoing whiplash)

Btt: I also didn't find the record interesting

I'm happy to hear that I'm not the only one who thinks it doesn't sound good. I like the Alborosie dub albums, at least most of the tracks. I wonder why this sounds so different?
