I'm seeing lots of Hitbound label 12 inch 45rpm records on ebay, with a small Channel One logo also on the label, selling cheaply on ebay.
They are all too often in immaculate condition, which is quite rare with JA 12 inch 45s (as are the two dollar prices!)
Is this label being used or has been used for re-issues?
Like for instance ebay item number:

Re: HITBOUND on Channel One - Represses?
Hi Leggo,
I have quite a lot of Hitbound items that have been re-issued on CD.
These re-issues I have purchased on CD are also available on vinyl as I had the option of purchasing in either format.
I don`t know who these are being issued by but all the details on the CD cases refer to Channel One studio which as you know no longer exists.
Hope this helps although I have probably just confused the issue.
Respect
Dave

I've long suspected these are re-issues. They are too neat and tidy to be vintage Channel One stuff.
The other clue is that the usual crew of hardcore collecters don't often bid on them.
Having said that, even if they are re-issues, if they are selling for less than two English pounds and they are good tunes, they have gotta be worth getting.
As for Channel One itself, I have heard that it is in the process of rebirth - although if memory serves me right in UA not JA.

Hi Leggo
As far as i`m concerned any good re-issues, whatever the format, are worth getting if you don`t own the originals.
The cheaper the better as long as they are not bogus. But there lies an entire minefield.

lots of hitbound represses out there, very good sound quality. jah guidance has some excellent sounding (boosted volume it seems) represses as well.
