Hi Beba
No probs. I must admit I was interested in finding out myself as I only have the Jays/Ranking Trevor cut.

Re: ROCKERS Movie - Looking for a song!!
very interesting, it's weird to find out alot of these classics came from soul artists, i find this happening quite alot......
Althought the verison in the rockers movi sure sounds exactly the same as the mighty diamonds version, was surprised to hear it wasn't them singing in the film, then again i haven't watched it in ages, just going by memory.

Curtis Mayfield and The Impressions were constantly touring Jamaica and, consequently, a major influence. Just look at the "Wailing Wailers At Studio One" album cover - http://www.roots-archives.com/release/2784

Yes the Impressions were also indirectly responsible for the 2 TONE Label character which was modelled on a pose by Peter Tosh copied from a pose by the Impressions!
Some other great Impressions toons covered are
I'M SO PROUD
GYPSY WOMAN
GROW CLOSER TOGETHER
produced by Lee Perry
along with the many CURTIS MAYFIELD solos efforts covered by Jamaican artists...
That's why there are so many Jamaican singing groups TRIOS and FALSETTO singers !!
BTW I prefer the CORNEL CAMPBELL & THE ETERNALS version of "QUEEN MAJESTY"...
"Queen of the Minstrels" coming in at 9:16 minutes on
STUDIO ONE . NICE UP THE DANCE Discomixes ..on HEARTBEAT

Cornell recut it for I think Prince Jammys as well- there is a wicked dubplate of it on the "Gemini Live at Skateland" album (rough as anything but IMO a great dancehall recording). The Gorgon is back!
