Will you help me find some classic tunes?

Post by Moh'ses »

I would be grateful if you could help me with this

I am looking for old 2 killa tunes that I heard off the Radio in my youth and would want to hunt for them on vynal or CD.

I have only a little bit of information about the tunes

One is what I call 'Beautifil Dream' and the lyrics simply go

'In my bed one night when I had a dream and in this dream I saw a pretty young lady

The young lady says she wants to marry me, by the end of time etc etc"

It is accompanied by a killa dub that is either scientist, jammy or tubbys?

The other is a tune I thought was by Barry Biggs and the Lyrics chorus goes

"The youth of today will be the man of tomorrow"

This Is a great web site, I just found it today

Thank you

Youths of Today
maybe could be horace andy or the afriques, could also be the coolers or delroy wilson!! even could be white mice from the early 80s.
is it digital or roots or ska?

Hi Moh'ses,

I can identify the 'Youth of today, man of tomorrow' tune: It is called 'Love We a Deal With', by Big Youth. I have a copy. If you would like it, please email me at cgha@homechoice.co.uk .

Hi

As rasdragon told you, 'Youth of today, man of tomorrow' are ultra classic lyrics. From ska to dancehall, you can find 10s (if not 100s) tunes with this line...

What style is your version?

Thanks and respect for you all for replying!
The tune is roots reggae and not digital and it is a lone singer with a powerful high pitched voice (similar to johnny clarke) another bit of a info....

The chorus then goes the way is clear as far as I can see
The way is clear as far as I can see!

It is the same riddem as a Yami Bolo tune 'Jah is my life'

Thanks again for your help.......

If anyone has a clue about this next tune I have written all the lyrics as I remember it
It is done in a heavy roots style with a single vocalist

I know it as 'Beautifil Dream'

'In my bed one night when I had a dream
and in this dream I saw a pretty young lady

The young lady says she wants to marry me, by the end of time

and I thought it was my imagination
it was just like my imagination

In that dream she says she really needs me but I dont care at all
In that dream she says she really loves me but I still dont care at all

On that same night that I saw her in my dream she came to me like she was real

but I know that she couldn't have been real
yes I know no that she couldn't have been true...

Respect
