I agree with Dreadrecords, my favorites change every couple of weeks as I discover more artists, right now it's:
1. Barry Brown
2. Cornell Campbell

Burning Spear ~ He has got to be the most under rated artist in the history of music. I'd put Marcus Garvey right up there with Bitches Brew or Dark side of the moon as the greatest musical pieces ever created. The fact that he followed that up with over thirty more years of such soulful music is simply mind boggling. His musical genius is only surpassed by his spiritual passion.
Bob Marley and the Wailers ~ With a heavy emphasis on the 67-73 era. The creativity that came out of that era is simply awesome. When I first re-discovered Bob Marley through his earlier works (less than a year ago), I remember feeling like I had just discovered music for the first time. Having been practicing meditation for years, I was very grateful to have discovered such beautiful music that was also heavily spiritual in nature.
Black Uhuru ~ This is actually the first band that I play for others when turning them on to reggae. Incredible songwriting. Super tight rythym section. Passionate singing. And just an over all jammin band that seems to greatly please everyone that gives them a listen. The fact that their best albums came out in the eighties is even more impressive.
The fact that ANY good music came out of the eighties is impressive.
just kidding....I like Eek-a-Mouse's earlier stuff.
peace
