Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Big Willie's "College Rock" (and thus a host of other gems including L. Smart's "Ballistic Affair", C. Campbell's Mash You Down", and my favourite Jackie Mittoo's "Freak Out") derived from:

If you like this kind of research you should check the PAMA forum where they have a thread that's incredible with many many original sources for tracks you never would have known weren't original compositions.

There was also a lot of information on Juha Vaahtera's ("maple") page, but I think the site is gone.
