October 2006 contest winners

Post by Roots Archives »

Dear friends,

We are proud to announce the two winners of the october 2006 contest, drawn among the correct answers we received :
Greg Garner and Massimiliano.

They will both receive a free copy of [Prince Far I - Under Heavy Manners](http://www.roots-archives.com/rotm/under_heavy_manners) and [King Tubby Meets Jacob Miller - In A Tenement Yard](http://www.roots-archives.com/rotm/in_a_tenement_yard) offered by [Joe Gibbs Europe](http://www.joegibbseurope.com/) and [Motion Records](http://www.motionrecords.com/).

And here are the answers we were expecting :

**Q1. Which song of The Clash has a reference to Prince Far I ?**
Clash City Rockers

**Q2. Which artist is incorrectly credited on the orignal label of King Tubby meets Jacob Miller ?**
Earl Zero

We would like to thank everyone who entered the contest. And don't forget to take your chance with [this month contest](http://www.roots-archives.com/contest/).

Why did you said EARL ZERO is incorrectly credited on the original lp? He's credited because it's not an exclusive JACOB MILLER album dub tracks because there is other artists dub version inside (2 earl zero songs for exemple and other by Joy White i think). All the people make the same mistake!!!!

I said that because on this lp it's the EARL ZERO dub version of CITY OF THE WEAKHEART recorded with Inner Circle in 1976. Jacob Miller made his own version the next year for his 1977 KILLER MILLER lp.

For that reason this dub lp have the right to be called 'CITY OF THE WEAKHEART' and i think the contest can be valid!!!The only fault is on the 12' center macaron, not the title.

But there two songs incorrectly credited by MOTION RECORDS at the end of the cd: 80.000 careless is in reality Ghetto on fire riddim and the next is not Ghetto on fire but a song i don't remember today.

I would like to know what roots-archives team is thinking about this.CIAO
