hi there. anyone can give me information on Black Roots? when did they end? where are they now? what about those great musicians like the drummer and bass player? are they still playing??

check makasound.com, they are reviving (if you can read french)! These french youth brought their music back on scene and maybe one day on stage...!!
Them guys are from Bristol UK ("Down Bristol Rock" is an anthem...) but were born in JA. Start their group in 79 and finished recordings in 1993. All them are alive and ready for new shots!
The drummer is called "trevor" and the bassist is "Derrick".
Also you can get there a good compilation of their work, Nubian Style! Hope it helps...
