black wax records of birmingham , uk

I recall a friends brother having a single called dreadlocks in / or at moonlight on the black wax
label, I believe it was by Willie Lindo, but no record shop / dealer seems to have any recollection of it. Anyone out there knows where there may be a copy? Like wise , the Tennors with you're no good / do the reggae dance on big shot records (UK)?

Lee perry sing "dreadlocks in moonlight", is it? If yes you can find it in his "Reggae greats" / mango /cd by exemple...

Fab is probably right, Perry did a tune called Dreadlocks In Moonlight, also included on Island's Reggae Greats and on the Countryman soundtrack. Don't think it came out on Brian Harris's Black Wax, although its not impossible,there was a link between them and Black Wax had the Prince Jazzbo lp Ital Corner (there titled Natty Passin' Thru) which Perry produced

Although I know that Tapirs' is great I haven't checked it for information.
There has been a 7" on the Black Wax label by Willie Lindo called 'Midnight'(WAX 21) from 1976.
I don't know if this is the one that matches with Lenroys' .

You are spot on! It wasn't Lee Perry, I've heard & got it. I think that they were in my mates house around the same time. I've never seen that Willie Lindo single anywhere, was it a B side of another song? I didn't notice it listed when I looked up Black Wax on this site.

The recording was a 'a'-side if we can trust the RKR database of Nighthawk.
I might be very wrong but I know this one, it appeared on the 'Samba Pa Ti' album by Willie Lindo and it's known as 'Midnight train to Georgia'. A very disappointing recording anyway.

By sheer coincidence, while searching out info to respond to another query on this site, I found a old tape with a David Rodigan BFBS show where he played this song. In a commercially tilted reggae vein, it didn't sound bad for being nearly 20 years old. But it certainly wasn't any King Tubby or Prince Jammy / Scientist dub work out, was it.

Joe, I've just followed up your link. Thank you very much. I never realised how hard / classic some of those tunes were that came out through Black Wax. My friends brother used to run a sound with another friend of mine. He must be gutted that he did away with the record boxes!
