Dread Broadcasting Corporation: DBC Mix Tape 41

Post by bushman »

Hi Everyone,

Well I finally managed to dig out the one and only DBC tape I have: The Legendary Tape 41. I’ve put side A up, and you can hear it/download it if you click on this link:

http://www.sendspace.com/file/nsaxfe

This is the playlist:

Artist Title

Bob Marley (?) – Natural Mystic
Burning Spear – Dry and Heavy
Unknown – Unknown (Prophets ‘Beware’ riddim)
Johnny Clarke – Roots Natty
Johnny Clarke – Crazy Baldheads
Bunny & Ricky - Bushweed Corntrash
Devon Irons – Jah Come
The Heptones – Book of Rules (version & vocal)
Unknown – Unknown (‘Sing Halleuyah’)
Little Roy – Prophecy
Prince Buster – Big Five
Rappa Robert – Radio in a Different Fashion
Rico (‘Ramble’ riddim) & Cheech & Chong – Ashley Roachclip
Unknown – Unknown (‘Skintight’)
Prince Hammer – Brixton Trial and Crosses

Where there is a question mark or ‘unknown’ written, if anyone can help with identifying artists or titles, that would be great!

Above all, I would really appreciate some feedback: do you like this? Is the quality ok? (I’ve done my best, but it’s a 25 year old TDK AD90!. All comments welcome, happy listening and have a nice weekend.

B Side soon come.
Frank

Hi, I came across this post in my search for DBC tapes. I used to own a few but to my regret lost them over the years. Now, I was exited to find this post but soon dissapointed as I found the link dried up....Can I persued you to put it up again? and if possible....could you also include B side? Hoping you can make this happen...Greetings F.

Well Frank,

policy here has changed. We dont allow any links to mp3 downloads anymore.
Best is to email or 'pm' bushman. ;)

I have a few DBC-shows that DJ Lepkie uploaded to Blood & Fire some years ago. This one included (both sides). Great stuff! I can try and upload them when I'm home.

The songs you have which are marked as unknown are (from the notes included with the download);
Toots & The Maytals - Mathew Mark (Sing Halleuyah)
Skin, Flesh & Bones - uknown (Skintight)

I have 12 different DBC shows, all as mp3's including Tape 41. I have no idea how to share them but would be happy to if someone could tell me the easiest way to do it. PM me if this is breaking any rules.

Somebody had about 4 hours of raw show that he streamed through shoutcast during the late 90's. It's stuck w/ me since. It was always the same show, w/ same skits and adverts and I am dying to get it.

i@n, can I get a copy of your shows somehow? Please?

Well the good news is some DBC tapes are going to be converted, some will be uploaded..but most of the shows will be for sale.
We have most of the programmes that were broadcast and they are in stereo. At that time most of our broadcasts were in mono..i think we only ever did 2 stereo broadcasts.
