Hi 6anbatte
Yes it is an old (30 years plus) TD160 with an SME arm and an Elite cartridge- plays almost anything when set up right but now getting a bit fragile hence in semi-retirement. The Pro-Ject is new and fairly basic, not quite so versatile but has a more easy to get needles for Ortofon cartridge. (And more toddler-proof.) The amp is an Arcam Alpha 8R and the speakers are fairly small Mission ones (once we get the extension built the big Kef Concord IVs will come back down from the attic!) Also have a Quad amp/pre-amp with one channel defunct- will get it fixed one day but the Arcam is better.

Hi Jesco77
Excellent. Good stuff. That brings back memories.
I'm putting my Rega through a Cyrus 8 amp and Dali Royal Menuet II speakers.
Same as you the speakers are small, but then again so is the room I listen to music in.
I was considering buying Spendor S6e's, but sanity got the better of me.

Hi Jesco77
Unreal!!!!!! Particularly like this line - “They’ll easily handle upwards of 2000W. Our
design does not rely on external subwoofers to provide full range reproduction.
Our Subwoofers are “lifetime guaranteed” to never blow. ”

I would need to test them out with a couple of speaker-blowing 12"s- the Island 12" of "King Tubby Meets the Rockers Uptown" and "Rewind" by Johnny Osbourne on Unity would do...

Good selection.
How about the 12" of Ken Boothe's "You're No Good" followed by the b-side Prince Jammy's "Out Of Order Dub"?
Are there any pics of these beasts?

Not quite what I expected, but they do look really heavy duty!

I have the Greensleeves repress of 83 Dub. It's fine for quality. Of course, I'd prefer an original copy. I am surprised it seems quite rare as it was a popular LP back in the day...
@ Jesco77 and 6anbatte
I recently sold a Project Debut II as I found it suffered badly from feedback when I turned up the bass. My Sony PS-X65 and even the Sony PS-4750 don't have the same problem in the same room, same set up, same music.
I also have a pair (well two pairs actually) of the Kef Concorde IVs. I use the better pair in the Dining Room now. I was using them in my main system but some technics SB-6000 and SB-4500 have now taken their place.
Do you have the stands for the Kefs? I find they sound MUCH better when off the ground but sadly can't find any of the original stands anywhere.

I'm using a Technics SL-D202 direct-drive turntable I bought back in '80 or '81, so I'm surprised that auto-pickup tonearms aren't more common. The AudioTechnica cartridge bought at the same time is on about its tenth stylus. Other than the cueing being a little tempermental after all these years, the setup still performs well. Of course, after all these years, I'm more tempermental too.
Still wondering, though. On the Greensleeves re-press, does Sufferer Dub cut-off abruptly as on the Rockers pressing?
