Thanks - good to know that checking label or matrix details won't be necessary. I'm a fan of the Confrontation album so the original mixes will be nice to hear. Even if not much different it's great to have the version still.

They are quite different, beyond just being different mixes, since the *Confrontation* versions have new overdubs. Maybe you already know, but The Meditations sing backup on the originals (replaced by the I-Threes on the remixes).vtov wrote:Even if not much different...

Yes (but I forgot). In the liner notes to the Deeper Roots compilation, Ansell Cridland mentions that Bob wanted them to sing on a few more tracks. Next was Buffalo Soldier, but then the I-Threes arrived in the studio and the Meditations never got back on the mic.
