Today I heard two tracks that I hadn't heard for years. They are "Makebeliever" and "Commited" from Third World (Commited CD)
Yes, they are really digital...
Yes, they are kind of crossover reggae...
But man... Bunny Ruggs sings so so sweet!
I was dancing and singing alone in my place...

ROOTS WITH QUALITY indeed!

I've been cleaning and spinning various Ariwa 12 inchers I bought recenlty in a job lot of digital stuff.

But I've taken time out to listen to some good old analogue sounds, like for instance:

Jaydubbinn:
Unfortunately Santa charged me over a hundred quid for this particular Xmas present...

Today I've been on an analogue trip. So far I have played:

12 inch:

Perilous Time - Jennifer Lara

I bought this for the Sugar Minott cut of Stick and Stone on the A side, but Jennifer's B side far outshines Sugar's A side!

LPs:

African Dub Chapter 4 - Joe Gibbs
Herbman Hustling - Sugar Minott
Slice of the cake - Sugar Minott (this LP is so tough, you HAVE to hear it!)

Jaydubbinn:

I reckon it was money well spent. There's a few Pre-releases in there and most of them are almost Mint.

As for the Billy Boyo thing. On my copy it says w/ Billy Boyo. I had always assumed this referrred to the end part of the track which is about Billy Boyo. Isn't it?

Since my last post I've been running through a load of 12 inch 45s... it's been a roots rocking Boxing Day here in the Leggo Rocker household!
