does anyone know about I Kong - ive heard he was the son of the late, great leslie Kong

he released an album in 1979 on the top ranking label which has recently been transformed to CD on the Esoldun label under the Title "Ghetto Cry"

no he wasn't son of Leslie, he is a nephew to the late Leslie kong though... errol kong is his right name, aka ricky storme and i kong

It seems its not that simple.... Errol Kong and Ricky Storm are different guys... even if Ricky Storm used the name I-Kong (used by Errol Kong too) for his song THE WAY IT IS...

There is a thread about this on B&F and Russ D assure that they are clearly 2 different persons...

no mate, it is stated from talk w. the man in question in the reissue of I Kongs album that he used that name, it is one and the same

actually if you re-read the thread on baf there`s no dispute mentioned that i kong is errol kong...the dispute was about wether i kong was ricky grant, which of course he isn`t... but i kong is indeed errol kong, as well as ricky storm, obviously ricky storm is`nt ricky grant... confused yet !

as I think I already wrote it, remember the name if you want but forget about the music, quite a weak album in my opinion despite teh amazing featurings.

disagree ben, it is a great album, very well arranged stuff, some hard riddims too.. and great singing by the man.. top album
