Thanks for the tips!

@Leggo

i bought a vinyl record cleaner from a dj store here in brazil.... the cleaner is called VC-1 from stanton, it's a tipe of brush that comes with a liquid you apply on the record, and brush it in the grove direction...

I just didn't tried yet coz i'm injured and to clean my records would require me to stay a long time standing on my feet, and right now i'm still not able to do it... :(

about stylus, mine is Ortofon Concorde Twin DJ-S ... i guess the "S" is supposed to be from "spherical" then... I tried to follow all instructions, and applied 3g of weight on the tonearm, as the stylus manual says... the guy who sold me from the DJ store said this was better for record reproduction coz it caused less worn on records, than others that were used also for hip-hop or techno scratching....

Little by little i'm learning this stuff.... and i believe this spherical stylus is better than the eliptical one, as this forum u send me the link said....

How does this MOTH RCM cleaner works? is it available to buy thru the web?

@Lion

I always followed my heart/mind when it comes to select my playlist... and I always thought that QUALITY means more than QUANTITY... for basically everything in life....

almost forgetting that sensi and champagne are truly a GREAT combination.... unfortunately almost only done at new year's... at least for me... :)

I had the champers but not the sensi this year. I don't know any good herbsman in my (new) hometown.

:(

Moth RCM works with vacuum which is the essential part of real cleaning. I wouldn't clean a record with a dry cloth and if you use the liquid without vacuum then the dirt isn't taken away from the record surface and any rubbing is pushing the dirt deeper into the grooves.

Moth is here (but there are lotsof similar machines on the web)

Cool leggo...

maybe i'll add that to my hi-fi wish list... the only problem is that is a bit expensive for me due to our lower currency, and also it's probable custom taxes i'd have to pay...

Any other record cleaner suggestions?

If you want one shipped to you without taxes it can be done.

I can show you where to buy that on eBay, then have it delivered here. I then post it to you as a 'gift' on the custom label. That works in the UK as I have stuff mailed from the USA by a friend this way.

It's still expensive, but I do think that a record cleaner is worth the money, especially when some of these records cost hundreds of dollars.

For more record cleaning machines, just search google, there are several.

Also, I have seen 'DIY' record cleaning instructions if you or someone you know is a practical handed person. After all, they are just a slowly spinning platter and a strong vacuum cleaner.

Again, Lion, that is one awesome 12 inch.

I had it when I was a kid, and recently bought the exact same copy off the guy who took it from me in 1982 for a few pence. I think he made maybe 1,000% gain on the transaction but no matter, I wanted it back so bad.

I noticed some tracks had drop outs. I think because I was trying to scan labels when recording them! So if you hear any like that, just list me the track names and I'll re-record them!

Hi massive!

After a lot of struggling with my pc, I finally uploaded a new playlist full of Roots & Culture tracks, lots of dubs and also a short "ganja" mix... Hope you'll enjoy!

I'll soon add the new track list on the website, the new playlist is starting in a few minutes... and will be playing the whole week so make sure you check out!

Blessings,
