ites deh

Leggo Rocker i don´t tink so and i normaly don´t get dat feeling.i tink dat the only persons who could tel me dat i'm not welcome are the owners and builders of any site or forum where i go.
what i see is dat Roots archives are so popular now dat anyone comes around with simple questions or sometin like dat.
its normal when lot of people come around normaly the forums sometimes gets boring.
in the beginning there are the big questions about dat riddim or dat singer or sound or music, etc dat we love to answer and help and also getting the help for us from others.
as reggae music develops and grows all over the world and dancehall spreading around with a lot of site only talkin about dat roots archives its a must to keep the roots alive and spreading out
as they say
"The purpose of this website is to bring you a comprehensive and searchable database of Jamaican Roots Reggae Albums from 1970 to 1985. This site is a completely free source of information for all reggae lovers and collectors"
dats wonderfull when yu don't need to be bored with Flyers and publicity etc...how simple can we ask for me its great.

respect everytime

Yeah, but when you are one of those relatively new guys you can't help feeling that comments like that which started this thread are aimed at you - individually as well aas collectively.

But this is not a select club, it is a public place.

Maybe those who wish to return to a 'pure' forum should start their own, and then only let their friends in. So nobody can spoil their precious vibe.

I am sorry if I come across a bit negative here, but the more I read this topic the more bad I feel about it all.

Maybe I should also be saying 'Bye Bye For Now'

Hi Leggo Rocker

I think you are taking this thread a bit to personally.

From what I have seen, there is no problem with your threads and the manner in which you post.

I have learnt things from your threads as with most others who have post threads.

As an example, the kind of threads which I object to are those which are designed to create conflict and those that have no reference to the music.

A prime example of this was the "Why talk in Patios" thread. Follow that thread through and see how it escalated into abuse.

These are the sort of threads which have tended to appear from time to time and which have no place here.

So Leggo don`t take it the wrony way, I for one have no issues with your threads and, have infact, picked up a few good releases on the strength of the knowledge you have shared.

Respect

Thanks Rootsman.

I'm glad I have inspired you, although, like I have said, I really know very little about Reggae music, riddims, artists, history etc. I just love it and listen to it everyday.

Hope I don't bother the 'older' guys too... as I'm a newby here and I just wanted to express my feelings and share a bit of my own little knowledge about this music and riddim that I love so DEEPLY...

And when I say I know only a little, I really mean it.... or how could I ever pretend I know more than someone about reggae when I'm only 23 and most of the classic reggae records I love were done before I was born?

Thank's Rootsman for making things clearer this time, as I was thinking of not answering this topic as I was also starting to take it personally...

Hope we can keep the NICE & KIND vibes that are spread here.... and hope there's no more need to "bye bye's for now"....

Blessings,
DJ Guno Santos

Hi Gunosantos.

I am in my 40`s. I collected Reggae from 1980 - 1986. I then started listening to Jazz when Reggae went digital.

I sold all my vinyl in the 1990`s and only started listening and buying reggae again in 2004.

It was like starting from scratch as I remembered very little of the music that I had bought 20 - 25 years previous.

So for me any small amount of knowledge that yourself and others know and are prepared to share is a big plus.

It helps me learn about the music, artists, labels, studios etc which enables me to build on my collection with quality music.

This is what the forum means to me and if I can return the favour anytime then I do.

Respect

I think the place has already lost enough people, seems to have gone quiet over the past months in here, but i still always pop in to check the forum regularly, it's so easy to take offence when people post up negative comments on forums but u just have to not take it personally when this happens, easier said than done sometimes, but if anyone wanted to get rid of someone on the#is forum they would make it very clear to and i'm sure u would get some warnings from admin before that happened,
I hope non of ya leave the place, every member is an asset to this forum.....
