who is the original composer of the song movie star? i've heard 2 versions very different between them (musically talkin), one is on the Errol Dunkley's Darling Ooh 1972, and the other is like the Buju Banton modern version. I would like to know which LP contains this second version and if that is the original.

Im not sure about this but I think the original is Delroy Wilson´s "I don´t know why" recorded in Studio1. He recorded it again later for Bunny Lee as "Movie Star".

Yes, Delroy Cut the original movie star for Coxsone @ studio 1 however it was as pf said under the title 'I don´t know why'

It was cut sometime in the late 60's , he then later recut it for bunny unde the title "Movie Star".

Many cuts have been made to this riddim, including the famous cut made by wayne wonder & buju under the title movie star in 1992 i think.

The main bassline/pattern 4 the riddim is basicslly a studio 1 composition.

I got a version of "I don't know why" on studio 1 but sung by Doreen Shaffer. Don't know if it comes before Delroy Wilson's cut.
