Getting on a bit

Post by toucan »

Not being as young as we used to be, was talking with my wife about what tunes we want played at our funerals!
We both cam up with :-

I Jahman - Are We A Warrior
Hortense Ellis - Unexpected Places
Jennifer Lara - Love And Harmony

If we were going to make it an all day affair, any other suggestions?

Of course we could just stream Leggo Rockers HiFi.

What would you choose?

i reckon iman still got bout 20-30 years left still - anyway.

A real song which does have a deep meaning 2 me are john holt and the paragons - memories by the score.

i dont know - it was playing at my wedding when i married my beautiful wife. - so i guess it should be the song that sees me pass on.

When i&i pass, the lord god jah rastafari shall guide i&i hopefull into the gates of mount zion.

I've never made the mistake of thinking that death cannot strike at any moment, even though my Granny is alive and well at 102 yrs !!

So it could happen anytime so better set my playlist!

It has to be 'Burial' by Peter Tosh on 'Legalise it' so everyone gets the message that it was my flesh, not me that has died.

Then

'No Woman No Cry' Bob Marley to comfort the wife and daughters

Then 'War' also by Bob Marley, because I doubt the world would have got that message yet.

Then lower my coffin to the strains of 'Leggo Dub' by the Revolutionaries.

But I agree with Toucan, streaming my radio station would be a good idea too!

Interesting question. Today I'd say:

Copasetic by The Rulers
Dream Land by Bunny Wailer
Many Rivers to Cross by Jimmy Cliff

Or maybe just whatever was on the turntable when they found me.

;)

Peace,

James
