Will travel to Paris in february. Any recommendations for reggae shops to visit? And which french reggae bands are worth buying?

- Massilia Sound System
- Big Mamma
- Sinsemilla
- K2 Riddim
- Ska P
- Babylon Circus

Ska-P are Spanish, they were quite popular in France. Not that interesting after my taste.

I must admit I listened to the sound samples and none of it was to my taste.

As a french most of thse bands arent so interesting.

>Sinsemilia are friends of mine, maybe the biggest reggae band in france but they turned a bit too commercial and frenchy after their second album. I'd advice the first album "Premiere recolte" (first harvest) some real good roots tunes. The second album has also solid compositions "Resistance" but a bit speeder and rock.
>Massilia sound system is a funny mix of different influences and good vibes on stage but not roots.
>K2R riddim also had some good songs in the beginning but not my type of reggae. As I said in another topic the best reggae bands in France are local and dont last, you see them one time, it's great and you never herar of them anymore.

>Gang Jah Mind "Le chemin", (they also recently released an album I did not listen to) sang by a women in arabic english and french, check also >Radical el salam same langage mix. Radical el salam must be hard to find but you have 2 or 3 wicked tunes on their only album called Tu Kac or something like that. (and try my band Wareika Hills)

For roots sound you'd better check Orange Street, Faya Dub or Positive Roots Band, cause french reggae party is not that roots. If you're lucky you'll catch them touring...
