Lesley Kong, Don Letts, Mickey Dread.
My landlord in college was Leonard Chin. He let our band practice in the apartment. He talked about Leslie Kong and said Don Drummond put the moves on his wife. We were in awe of him.

Hemp speakers are for real! Also carbon fiber, aluminum, titanium, and kevlar. Check out http://www.tonetubby.com/cone.htm
Leonard owned a whole bunch of old houses in Moscow, ID. We about sh*t when he recognized a jam of "True Believer" and some other old songs and told us he knew Leslie Kong and "all those ska guys". Then he said something like "And I know all about your inspiration!" pointing at the pot crumbs all over the place. He was the only cool landlord. The rest were mean slumlords.
Man I always wish I had the Ubangis back, along with the Hammond and the Leslie. This stuff does not fit in a mini van! Nowadays, our gear is just boring, downsized, and fits in a mini van.

Re: Favorite Producer?
Scientist, Lee Perry and King Tubby are the producers that made me become a producer of dub music myself (ok so I'm just an amateur - I don't claim to be up there with those guys! ;0) )
Since starting production I have to add Coxsone and Duke Reid as I have a huge love of the old time style and these guys, especially Coxsone with whom almost all good things reggae wise have their roots. Oh, and of course, Lloyd Barnes for that unique Wackies sound!
