Check above mentioned link and play a great Burning Spear live recording dated back in 1984, backed by a.o. Bobby Ellis and Deadly headly Benett. Again a piece of an integral radio live broadcast by Dutch Public Radio at the time. Too bad they don't make radio like this anymore.

Sounded like a nice party. I still enjoy these tapes, especially the remarks of the radio commentator complaining that Burning Spear was often not singing (while the band was playing dub in live stylee ).

I must confess that I especially love this concert due to the horns part which was incredibly well done,... a few years ago Bobby Ellis was touring with the Diamonds and Big Youth. I've seen the Diamonds and Big Youth before, but backed with a proper horns section, that really makes a difference.

Too bad, dutch public radio does not invest anymore in making good quality live recordings of reggae bands. Do you have any idea whether guys like Dave van Dijk are still making radio shows?

It's was a great experience back home from a concert
and hear the concert again.

are you certain that dis show was in Holland? The MC's english accent is SSTTRROONNNGG french accent.... Strong eneough to make me think it coud be in France...!

Anyway, powerful sound! I saw Burning last year in concert and it was far from that quality!

Yep this show definitely took place in Holland. Don't know where the MC was coming from, but... as Lion stated this was a live show that took place in the vredenburg concert hall in utrecht and was at the same time broadcasted via national radio. Pure magic...
