Hi guys,
Please see this album.

Can anyone give me some feedback as to how good it is and if it is worth buying.
I am familiar with their earlier recordings but not this album from mid 70`s
Thanks
Dave

I have three of the skatalites albums in dub. All three are mixed by the one and only king tubby, including the one you have mentioned, and they are all very good. I would say buy it you wont be let down

Re: Skatalites in Dub
Thanks guys,
Lion, I will definately check out that album. I also noticed a 1976 album titled the "Legendary Skatalites" with the same track list. Is their a difference ?
Selecta bing, the 2 albums I saw were both on the Motion label.
Macrobat, what 3 dub albums do you have. I could only see 2 and both were on the Motion label
Thanks
Dave

Hi Lion,
Found the African Roots on CD.
However, it has a different cover to the UA and Moon Ska releases. It is on a label called Grover.
The track list is the same as the ones you quote.
Have you heard of this label or does it sound suspect.

Re: Skatalites in Dub
Hi Dave,
Grover is a german label that specialises in ska records old and new. It is longstanding and can be trusted for its original releases.
Go and get that record
There were three records released by Motion records, the first being "Reggae Heroes in Dub" as the Skatalites meet King Tubbys, the second "Herb Dub Collie Dub " as by the Skatalites which already had some tracks of the first record ina different mix and mastering. Motion deleted the first one and put all the stuff together on the record you are originally referring to "The legendary Skatalites in Dub" which features all tracks of the first two records.

Re: Skatalites in Dub
Thanks Bellyman, I Will purchase this album tomorrow.
Can I also assume from what you say that I only need to get "The legendary Skatalites in Dub" to get all the tracks that span the 3 dub releases ?
Thanks Lion, for putting me onto the "African Roots" album in the first instance.
Much appreciated guys.
Thanks
Dave
