Right now:

Cornell Campbell Meets the Gaylads (with SLy and Robbie)

on

Culture Press

This is a lovely vocal LP with some good dubbing included.

I love this thread. It has been the source of discovery of lots of reggae music that I've not heard or even considered before.

Yes Lion, I have that one on the Ballistic pressing.

I haven't listened to it (Gayladds Understanding) for some while. Maybe that needs to be the next one to sit pon the wheel of steel!

And do I take it that there's some problem with Culture Press? What is that? Pirates?

Excuse me if I have missed something obvious here, but what is the connection with Cornell Campbell and the Gayladds? Or is this 'meets the' LP just a one-off collaboration?

So now on the turntable I have:

Gayladds - Understanding

on Ballistic

And, of course, Lion isn't wrong, this is a very fine LP.

I am a very big fan of good vocal reggae, and love harmony style vocals like this.

last record I bought was a version to Lion Youth Rat A cut Bottle called "My Little Woman" (Virgo Stomach 12") - label is blank so I don't know the artist. The flip side has a wicked dub with added sax.
