DEADLY DRAGON SOUND CELEBRATES 2nd ANNIVERSARY

What: Deadly Dragon Sound 2nd Anniversary Party with Downbeat the Ruler Tony Screw, Twin Sounds with live performances by Ranking Joe, Carlton Livingston, Johnny Osbourne and Devon Clarke. All alongside Deadly Dragon Sound Selectors Scratch Famous, Queen Majesty, JD and Mr. K.

Since opening two years ago amidst the hanging BBQ ducks of Chinatown, Deadly Dragon Sound has firmly established itself as one of the top flight record shops in the world; albeit one that concentrates solely on the music of Jamaica. In celebration of this event Deadly Dragon Sound will be throwing a party on Wednesday, January 28th at club Happy Ending - 302 Broome Street. For this event Deadly Dragon has amassed an incredible lineup of sound systems and live performers to mirror the golden days of Jamaican Rub a Dub.

For this bill, Deadly Dragon is proud to present Tony Screw aka Downbeat the Ruler. For more that 40 years Tony Screw has ruled the dancehalls from Jamaica to New York to all around the globe. As the main selector for Coxsone Dodd`s Downbeat sound, Tony Screw has introduced generations of reggae fans to the sounds of Studio One while building bridges to the newer generation with wicked selections of new artists and new tunes. Performing alongside Tony Screw will be New York`s own TWIN SOUND -- one of the finest roots and foundation sound systems playing today.

To bring back the flavor of the golden days of Jamaican Rub A Dub, Deadly Dragon has enlisted the help of legends Ranking Joe, Johnny Osbourne, Carlton Livingston and Devon Clarke who will be performing their hits alongside the collected soundsystems of Tony Screw, Twin Sound and Deadly Dragon.
