Leroy Brown-Color Barrier

Post by Chris »

Does anyone know anything about this album/CD by Leroy Brown? Ernie B has it as an essential pick and I must confess I've never heard of him.

Hi Chris,

I bought this LP last week (re-issue on Makasound). I think it is great and it's certainly worth buying it! In the song "Color Barrier", Brown uses "Ain't No Love In The Heart Of The City" by Bobby Blue Bland (one of my favourite Blues/Soul singers). This song alone makes the album a gem. You can listen to the album on:

Hi Chris,

It is a very good album on Makasound.

Most of the Makasound re-issued are well worth checking out.

All Makasound reissues are among the best ever done, not only for the pressing quality but also for the covers and liners notes... not different with "Color Barrier"... Great album!

Nothing to add to what as been said, simply another encouragement to get this album. Some songs are simply good, others are absolutly great, pay attention to the lead guitar from chinna on the ssong 'what a fire', it is really a fire.
