Re: Mikey Dread
solrac's list is quite okay though missing on the tremendeously excellent dubs that came inna dancehallstyle with Roots Radix :
Dub Catalogue Volume 1
Dub Merchant
Jungle Signal
plus
Master Showcase (one of the first one-riddim collections)
Rockers Vibration (real great collection of vocal artistes)
The aforementioned 'Evolutionary Rockers' has most recently been rereleased and should be available at every good dealer.
for further see www.mikeydread.com or www.datcreggae.com

Re: Mikey Dread
yes, african anthem has some marvellous dubs with utterly unique vocal effects chucked in, like girls chuckling, guys laughing, motorbike sounds, cocks crowing, etc,,,great vocal input too, from mikey himself. i had it on lp back in the 1980s.i,d like to get hold of dub catalogue and dub merchant.does anyone recall mikey on channel four way back in the 1980s?reggae sunsplash. it was magnificent in truth...bye all, sean

Re: Mikey Dread
Highly collectable and recommended are all 12" 'Discos' on the DATC label, every one is a jewel.
Mikey Dread used this medium to full effect in creating very long vocal and dub versions for each song.

Re: Mikey Dread
Problem is finding the 12" Discos in anything other than very battered ex-Sound System condition.
I'm on the lookout...
