...seem to have an mp3 file containing a beautiful tune with i roy doing his thing over the top of it..only identifier is "promise of life, burn dreadie" ..can anyone of you knowledgable ones out there shed any light on this...what recording its from and possibly the original?

yes, utodd is right. The original is Dennis Brown 'Things in life'. If you do a song search in the Archives you will find it. I-Roy song is called 'Problems of life' for Daley.
1000 tons of Megaton is a fast early reggae tune.
