Cornell Campbell; The Investigator.

Does anybody know of other tracks cut on the same riddim? Has it got a name?
It's a mystery to me that such a fine bass line has been so seldom used.

Interesting question.
I'm still looking for versions by other artitsts but even Bunny Lee recorded this song twice with Cornell Campbell. Originally at around 1977, released on the "Stalowatt" album and on 7". And around 1980/81 with a rebuilt riddim-base. This version can be heard an the "Cornell Campbell Collection"-album.
rougher yet

There is also a 12" inch version - at least reported as such - which is around on Winmix but much to my dismay I have not been able to download; there is always something that goes wrong and in THREE weeks I only managed to download the 37% of it, and that on the first attempt!
But in any case I have been looking and looking and as far as I have seen it looks like only Cornell Campbell cut it.
It's a shame if you think that there are at least 250 version of Heavenless around, which was good, but come on, that's bloody enough.

There is a DJ version by Dennis Alcapone I ripped some time ago now and has been well shared on DC++ I imagine, details are......[CA_Soul Power_SP 011-A_1977] Dennis Alcapone - Turn Them Back...........nice tune it is too.
