Three sons and two jobs make it very hard for me to find time to be lazy (or leazy). I would love to have time flip thru various websites or read reggae books but thought forums were to discuss and get answers from different sources.
If you do not like contributing and want to send negative vibes and sit in judgment of people posting, please feel free to avoid reading my posts. The last two times you have given answers to my post, the information was very incorrect, anyhow. Maybe they are just for people to try to make themselves look knowledgable or for calling names.
If you enjoy saying you have all the answers but that you prefer to keep them to yourself, more power to you. However, please understand that you are not obligated to tell everyone to do research if they want an answer. It is not helpful.

yeh the whole point of the forum is to share info to save others having to spend hours hunting info out, all praise to the people that do the searching but is nice to share the info for the better of the reggae community some of us are better at searching then others, i see no positivity in holding info back just coz the other person never contributed to finding it, coz it's not like anyones gonna buy the info off u or anthing, better to share the info and build up a nice reputation as someone who knows there stuff.
I think theres loads of older artists than the ones mentioned here, i think the oldest name i saw there was only 67 maybe, i think there must be several artists in there 80's somewhere! how about ernest wranglin, is he still with us? U-roy, yabby-u, bunny lee must be getting on too, derek harriot? i think alot of jamaicans tend to die a little earlier on than in other western countries maybe due to the poverty and standard of living, i'm not too sure why that is. I think some of the earliest artists must be mento artists.

Yeah, brother, I agree wit bwoyrough. Gwaan ask away. That wat forum is for. To share and give bout something you love. Reggae do have many good older artist who stick round long time and desrve raspect.

i know scratch was born in 36, so he is 71. alton was born in 1944, so not as old.
ernest ranglin was born in 32, making him 75 or so.

Bobby Ellis is still alive and kicking so far as i am aware. He is 76. Me get fed up with people slagging people for wanting to further their knowlege. Spread the word and learn i say.

Ranglin will be 75 in July.
Derrick Harriot is in his 60s.
I think Lloyd Brevett is the oldest but can't find the date. He couldn't play anymore.
