Sly and Robbie Presents Blazing Horns in Dub

Greetings to one and all,

I have searched for this album on this site but to no avail.Its a nice album and its where i get to appreciate the talents of these two guys and the hornsman.

It is in fact the same album as Dean Fraser "Pure Horn" LP, with a different title. Crucial late 70s channel one rhythms like "Sweet Africa" Earth & Stone,. "Majority Rule" Jimmy Riley , "Rush Me No Badness” Errol Dunkley and “I Don’t Like It” Leroy Smart if I remember correctly. The mixing is very good and the sax is good too.

I don’t think it’s easily available. I have it only on cd-r.

Well Charge are you saying Blazing Horns is the same as Pure Horn?

Or that the Lp the original post refers to, Re: Sly and Robbie Presents Blazing Horns in Dub, is the same as Pure Horn BUT not the same as Blazing Horns?

Dean Fraser's 'Pure Horn' is definately a totally different story to Tommy McCook & Bobby Ellis 'Blazing Horns'. First one was produced by Ossie Hibbert for Channel One Records, second was produced by Yabby You.
Blood & Fire put the 'Blazing Horns' set alongside the veryhardtofind 'Horney Dub' for their release.

Pure Horn

Horney Dub

Blazing Horns

And have established that all of them are different LPs.

But what of the original title of the thread. Does it exist? If so, what is it? Where is it?

I had it on tape.It exists and really a killer album.

The following are the hints:

1.Some of the dubs in the album were also perfomed in vocal by Gregory isaacs in 'Mr Isaacs'

2.If you have heard an extended version track in Dubwise and Otherwise part 2 which goes like 'shade no otherman's blood'the track is also one of the dubs in the album.

3.There is also a version similar to 'Wreck A Dub' by Prince Jammy

4.If i remember very well,two guys(not sly and Robbie) on the face of the cover and 'word Tamlins' were written

But the fact is all the dubs in the album are killers.We need to identify this cut.

My interest has been ignited by this post and it is Blazing hard.

I can't rest until I spot this LP, even just a site of the Artwork!

The first album that came to my mind was the Tommy McCook with Sly & Robbie on Carl's Records out of NY.
