David Isaacs - Place in the sun. Label error.

I have the above LP on the Culture Press version.

Everything good ---- except ---- I just noticed the label says:

Delroy Wilson - Place In The Sun.

!!!!

I notice the label artwork shown on RA seems to say David Isaacs - not Delroy Wilson.

I wondered if anyone else has this album and if so, what is on the label of their copy?

I have this one (VSLP5003) and it has "David Isaacs - Place In The Sun" on the label, although mine is a 1984 issues, as is the one in the RA picture, rather than 1976 as stated.

I'm pretty sure mine is 1984 too, I'll check when I get home.

I'm pretty sure that NOTHING was released on this label prior to 1984, so the RA database is either referring to an earlier release - or the actual recording date, or it's wrong!

Re-release on VISTA 1984.

I used to have that LP and I remember my label sayin David Isaacs too. Funny though, cause I've seen three different copies of the Horace Andy- Best of on the Culture Press LAbel and they all have the same error... Sly and Robbie listed as the artist on one side. This too was a mid 80's release but clearly a mid 70's recording just like the david Isaacs (I never knew it's original label info-thanx LION). ADambom

I presume Vista / Culture press are the same? The record number is a VSLP one.

But whatever, it's a wonderful LP.

It's one of the things I like about collecting reggae, getting all these errors! It distinguishes this genre from the other - over polished - types of music.

Visdta Souds was primarily out of the UK. The Culture Press albums were revives headed by Enzo Hamilton out of France licensed by/for vista Sounds. Seems like his early attempt to revive some early Roots in the mid 80's. He is also behind the recent revive releases of the Art & Craft disco represses. he doesn't exactly make replicas of the originals but still much appreciated and welcome, as they are usually good copies/presses.
