From all his albuns mentioned the strongest one is certainly "Tribal Inna Yard" IMHO.

...never heard the "Harsh Words" one... was checking and it says it's Sly & Robbie from 1982... sounds good... any thoughts?

If anyone is interested in any rare McKay stuff on cdr (including Harsh Words) just PM me.
Glad to spread the music of my favourite singer!

Just to get some things in the right context, the 'Doing it Right' cd has the complete material from the 'Best of' album which was originally on GG records.
'Harsh Words' is from 1976 and featuring the Revolutionaries with all associated musicians and imho is unique in style and Freddie's best.

Bellyman-
Thanks for the info. Do you know whether or not the liner notes for Doin It Right are correct when they say that the Revolutionaries did all the GGs tracks for the McKay best of?
I knew Doin It Right was just a re-issue of Best of with the GGs remake of "Picture on...." tacked on but wondered about the musicians.

I think its really worth to go into into singles with Freddie... I would highly suggest the far better version of *Your Cup is Full* produced by Jimmy Cliff (Sunpower 7")! MIIIGGHHHTTYYYY KILLER!!
One of the best roots ever, imo. Also the *Jah Love I* on Lucky... that even exists as 12"...
Or *Take My Hand Oh Jah* also available as 12"... All those 3 songs, not available on LP are the best I know from the man.

'All I Need Is Love' from 'Harsh Words' is one of the best all around love songs that I've ever heard.
